To prospective investors and partners,
Money moves slower than the rest of our lives.
We can send a message across the world in a fraction of a second, yet moving $50 between two people can still involve bank delays, withdrawal fees, and disconnected payment systems built for a world that did not operate continuously.
We think that is backwards.
Piro is a consumer payments network we’re building around a simple idea: money should move as easily as information.
A Piro user should be able to add money, send it to another person instantly, and move it back to a bank without needing to understand wallets, chains, gas, or any of the machinery underneath.
Stablecoins are useful to us for one reason: they give us better ways to move money. They are not the product.
Piro is the product.
Why now
The infrastructure underneath money is changing faster than the consumer experience above it. Stablecoins can settle value globally, around the clock. Real-time payment networks are expanding. Financial APIs have made bank connectivity programmable. The pieces required to build a better money network exist.
But infrastructure alone does not create a consumer company. People want their money to arrive. They want to know where it is. They want to get it back when they need it. And they want someone accountable when something goes wrong.
That gap, between powerful financial infrastructure and an experience people actually trust, is where we believe Piro belongs.
Make the fastest systems in finance feel like the simplest product on your phone. That is our goal.
Why us
We grew up in the same small Michigan hometown. That matters more to us than it probably looks like on a résumé.
Neither of us grew up assuming that building a global financial company was the obvious path. We came from a place where the normal path was clear, respectable, and already laid out. We both decided we wanted something different.
We became obsessed with the idea that your starting point should not determine the scale of what you are allowed to build. We took very different routes from there.
Rocco is a builder. He graduated as valedictorian and is studying business at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and mathematics. Before Piro, he built financial products through Provarion and became convinced that the infrastructure behind money was becoming far more powerful than the products consumers were being given.
Jon knows distribution. He built an audience of more than two million followers across social platforms by learning what makes people stop, care, trust, share, and come back. That is an audience we can learn from and reach, not a claim about Piro’s users.
One of us spends most of his time asking: how do we make the system faster, safer, and better? The other asks: how do we make people care enough to use it?
We are not two versions of the same founder.
We are two sides of the same company.
Product and distribution. Infrastructure and attention. Building and reaching. For a consumer financial network, we believe you need both from the beginning.
What we believe others are missing
Stablecoins are not a lasting advantage on their own. Neither are APIs. Any serious fintech company can eventually access similar infrastructure.
The opportunity is what you build around those systems. Our thesis is that a consumer payment network becomes stronger in three places:
- Trust.
- People keep money where they believe it will still be there tomorrow. Clear balances, reliable withdrawals, and accountable support earn that trust through everyday use.
- Density.
- A payment network becomes more useful when the people you already pay are already on it. We want to grow through connected groups of people who have a reason to pay each other.
- Routing.
- As transaction volume grows, Piro can get better at deciding how money should move: internally, through stablecoins, through real-time bank systems, and across currencies and geographies.
Over time, that can create something more defensible than a payments interface: a network of balances, relationships, settlement routes, risk decisions, liquidity, and repeat behavior.
That is the business we want to build.
The business behind free payments
Our ambition is not to make money by charging for every payment between friends. We are building toward free transactions between supported currencies and free, instant withdrawals.
Keeping that promise requires the economics underneath it to work. If Piro succeeds, we believe value can come from:
- Payment and liquidity routing
- Card economics
- Foreign-exchange and cross-border settlement
- Stablecoin distribution economics
- Treasury efficiency
- Business payments and APIs over time
These are business models to validate, not existing revenue streams. Currency rates and any applicable costs must be clear before someone sends money.
The consumer gets the simple product. Piro builds the financial machinery underneath it. That is the model we are working toward.
The work ahead
We are early. We have built the foundations for the backend, payment ledger, authentication, recovery, and bank connectivity. We are still pre-launch; money movement is not live.
The next questions are measurable:
- Will people trust us enough to fund an account?
- Will they send money more than once?
- Will they leave money inside Piro?
- Can withdrawals feel immediate without taking irresponsible financial risk?
- Can the economics work while the consumer product stays free?
- Can our reach create active groups of people paying each other?
Before real payments begin, we also need to confirm the right partners, custody arrangements, identity checks, and launch requirements. Those are part of building a payments company people can trust.
Investor capital does not substitute for answering these questions. It gives us the ability to answer them faster and at a larger scale.
What we are looking for
We want to work with investors who understand that a change in infrastructure can make a fundamentally better consumer product possible. We believe stablecoins and real-time financial systems create that moment.
The winning company will make the complexity disappear. That is what we are building with Piro.
If that is the kind of company you want to help build, we would like to talk.
